Super Upset against the Super Team. OMG Sweeps ECHO and Will Face against TNC on Playoffs Day 2
For champions to be made, only the strongest remain. As the MPL PH enters its first day of playoffs, ECHO and OMG face off for the first Best of Five series in hopes of advancing to take down TNC the following day.
OMG, despite fighting against season favories ECHO, are optimistic on taking down the loud proud echo as they have measured each and every measurement possible to be able to prepare against the worst odds. In the first game, Raizen locks in the newly revamped Akai for the jungle role to surprise their opponents, which is expected to be a pocket pick for the opening win.
Regular season favorites ECHO are also battle hungry and lock in their comfort picks with the likes of Karina on KarlTzy and Masha for Yawi. ECHO held the early games but OMG stand on their title as comeback kings to strike first blood.
With the momentum built up by Omega, the second game was another roller coaster of kills and objectives but still, with the Masha now in the hands of Renzio and Kelra still having the holy grail Wanwan, they obliterated the towers to breach through the base and force the backs of superteam against the wall, with a savage for the finisher and lead the team to one win away by throwing ECHO down to the lower bracket.
With ECHO now down two games, they had to prove the domination that they handled in the regular season and live up to the hype they gathered all season long, avoiding a clean sweep in the best of five series. However, OMG had multiple tricks down their sleeve with another pocket pick for Raizen with a Chou locked in for the jungle role, a hero that was long forgotten in the said role. Chemistry was the recipe for the squad with the high rolling composition that they had drafted, including the Xavier for E2Max and Ch4knu locking in Atlas. ECHO went for another comfortable draft that favored the meta with Grock for 3MarTzy Yawi locking in Franco.
Another back-and-forth game which looked like a déjà vu of the first and second match took place in the decider for OMG, with ECHO still taking charge in the early game and secure all major jungle objectives that enabled them access to the base. OMG, however, with their composition that focused on burst damage, held their ground against the sieging super team to keep their hot streak and win in a way that no one had expected; A clean 3 - 0 sweep. This takes OMG up to the second round of Playoffs against TNC, while ECHO will look to bounce back the next season for another hopeful run.
