Bren Esports advanced to the second round after eliminating Marky “Markyyyyy” Capacio’s Bigetron Alpha while ECHO and ONIC PH suffered a first-round exit on the second day of the ONE Esports MPL Invitational, Thursday.
The MPL Philippines Season 10 fourth placer withstood a tough stand from the Markyyyyy-led Bigetron Alpha to take a 2-1 win and move on to the second round.
Newly-awarded Rookie of the Season Kyle “KyleTzy” Sayson (Ling) and Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo (Mathilda) took charge in the dominant 15-4 Game Three win. The former had a clean 6-0-8 KDA line while the latter had 12 assists and a kill without a death.
Stephen “Super Marco” Requitano’s Beatrix helped Bren Esports snag Game One but Markyyyyy’s superb Lesley play allowed the Indonesian squad to tie the series.
Bren Esports takes on EVOS Legends in the next round.
On the other hand, ECHO, who was just coming off a silver finish in Season 10, and ONIC PH, lost to EVOS Legends and Aura Fire, respectively, both in three games to bow out of the Invitationals.
