The Grand Finals of MPL PH is a rematch of last season’s Grand Finals matchup where ECHO Philippines, once again, face-off against Blacklist International who are the current reigning MPL PH champions. Last time both teams met on the MPL PH Grand Finals stage, Blacklist were able to reign over Echo to take the crown but during the M4 Championships that took place earlier this year, Echo were able to take revenge as they brought down Blacklist to become the newest world champions. Now they face off once again for the championships. Will Blacklist be able to successfully protect the crown? Or will Echo finally be able to best Blacklist in a MPL PH Grand finals to become the new champions?

The draft for game one starts with Echo picking up picks that follow their core strategy including Lancelot, Lolita, Harith, Pharsa, and Gloo. Blacklist also followed their UBE strategy by taking Rafaela, Fredrinn, Arlott, Yve, and Brody. Both teams banned out-signature picks of each team such as Estes, Faramis, Wanwan, and Franco.

The game starts with early aggression coming out from Echo as KarlTzy takes first blood a minute into the game. Using their momentum, Echo successfully takes every objective that spawned into the game. Using their gold lead, they give Blacklist no space to breathe as they continuously clash and pick off members of Blacklist. Using their massive gold advantage while securing the second lord, Echo marches onto the base of Blacklist after picking off three members from the team, eventually ending the game winning the first point of the Grand Finals.

The draft for game 2 starts with Blacklist following a more aggressive approach as they take Baxia, Karrie, Pharsa, Faramis, and Gloo. Echo still sticks to a familiar composition by taking Beatrix, Lapu-Lapu, Fredrinn, Yve, and Grock. Both teams banned out meta picks often used by both teams such as Joy, Estes, Khufra, and Kaja.

Game 2 starts with Blacklist setting the tone of the game as they take first blood. Using their early momentum, they pick off another member of Echo but Echo retaliates by taking two members of Blacklist. The gold lead is still being held by Blacklist until the first turtle where Echo is able to successfully secure the turtle with a retribution equalizing the gold lead as both teams take down members from the opposing team. Echo starts to gain the gold lead as they win out the second turtle objective. Using their newly obtained lead, Echo wastes no time in growing their gold lead by dominating the whole map and taking every objective they see. Using their lead of around 7000 gold, Echo camps out the base of Blacklist poking each member until they eventually take down three members. Without taking the lord, Echo still ends the game by locking onto Blacklist’s base after taking down most of their members. Echo is now on their second consecutive point.

The draft for game 3 starts with Echo securing the Joy. They also pick up Akai, Yve, Beatrix, and Chou. A few of Echo’s best picks can be seen being used. Blacklist on the other hand drafted Mathilda, Karrie, Fredrinn, Arlott, and Pharsa who are also a few signature picks of Blacklist. Bans stayed similar which include heroes such as Estes, Faramis, Wanwan, and Gloo.

Game 3 starts with Echo following their recent matches of the series by instantly dominating Blacklist throughout all three lanes. Echo also beats out Blacklist in every contested turtle objective. With that, they pick up a huge gold lead of a few thousand gold as early as a few minutes into the game. This results in Echo taking every objective in the game allowing them to dominate the game more. By the second lord. Echo is able to take down four members of Blacklist allowing them to end the game to secure their 3rd win in a row.

The draft for game 4 starts with Blacklist following their core lineups seen in the past few games including Fredrinn, Karrie, Valentina, Faramis, and Gloo. Echo follows a bit of a different approach as they draft the roam Valir. They also pick up Lancelot, Yve, Harith, and Yu Zhong. Both teams continued to ban out signature picks from both sides which include Estes, Joy, Beatrix, and Lapu-Lapu.

Game 4 starts a bit differently with Blacklist contesting the aggressiveness Echo seems to be showing. This turns out to be in their favor as they gain a bit of a gold lead. Echo fights back by focusing on taking the turtle objectives while Blacklist focuses on invading Echo’s jungle. The gold lead shifts when Echo bests Blacklist in a clash to win over the early game. Using the lead, they follow similarly to their other games wherein they start growing their gold lead. This changes by the first lord where Blacklist is able to successfully win a team fight by taking down multiple members of Echo while even taking the lord. With the gold lead now on Blacklist, they start looking for more opportunities. Unfortunately for Blacklist, Echo challenges them to a clash and wins instantly shifting the gold lead back to Echo. Echo securing the momentum, take the second lord and with this, they siege the base of Blacklist. Blacklist is unable to defend for long as Echo continuously applies pressure picking off heroes of Blacklist one by one until eventually they end the game winning the Grand Finals match with a 4-0 sweep. Echo Philippines are now the newly crowned MPL PH Champions.
