The end of first quarter for the season begins with the battle of two developing teams. One of them is over-achieving while the other is still looking for the right formula to win consistently. TNC has been a revelation for the first part of the season while Bren Esports got their first victory in the fourth week of the tournament. It may be painful but the road to greatness is bright for both storied franchises.

There is a lingering reason why coach Duckey hates the hell out of Diggie. The annoying, egg hatching, time reversing genius has been a problem for Bren since then. But now, they have their sights on the egg and partnered it with the hard hitting troll Aulus. The combination of Lusty and Lord Malik has been a revelation since their first victory against Omega and they want to continue their momentum against the rising Phoenix.

The game started as TNC clicked from all cylinders, getting a lot from their jungles and rotations with Escalera (Kagura) leading the way while Kramm (Esmeralda) and SDzyz (Lancelot) punished Pandora (Uranus) in the Exp lane, and while everything is unfolding for the Phoenix they forgot about the supernova of Bren Esports. Lord Malik entered the ultra instinct mode in the twentieth minute of the game. But the game was not yet done as TNC fought tooth and nail against Bren until the twenty fourth minute when the MVP Escalera secured the Lord as SDzyz focused on the destruction of the base of Bren and secured the game 1 victory for the rising Phoenix.

The featured battle is between two of the brightest stars of the amateur tournaments, Stowm and Escalera. Both players ruled the midlane during their heyday in their former teams and now they are here, in the biggest league of the country. For the Phoenix, Escalera has been a solid number two option behind SDzyz despite playing the fourth position. His plays dictates the aggressiveness for TNC and proved to be one of the important players for the team. Stowm on the other hand played his first series during their last series against Omega but already showed promise for the M2 champions.

The second game was a masterful performance for TNC as they choked every possible opportunity for Bren to commit in team fights. The Natalia pick for Escalera dictate the teamfight for TNC as he made sure that Lord Malik (Ling) will have a hard time in holding his buffs as they slaughter the jungler of Bren every way possible. SDzyz had a great time jungling as his Lancelot squandered every Bren player that he had seen within the map. The Esmeralda pick of Kramm made the life of Pandora (Dyroth) a living hell as he secured every position that helped him to secure his lanes. Even the gold lane battle went to the hands of Yasuwo as his PNK carried the damage department and let SDzyz finish the teamfight. And with just seventeen minutes TNC won the match thanks to the marvels of their position four player that secured his second MVP of the game.

It was a painful loss for Bren as they plummeted below the standings and with one team sinking, the other team was rising as TNC secured another victory in their helm and continued their surprising run in the tournament. Can Bren recover their form, or can TNC continue to climb up the ranks? The second quarter of the MPL-PH will be a slugfest for these teams.
